Among Friends

The past two days have been perfect weather for the Gulf Crossing. So many friends that have been waiting out the big blow in Carabelle and even one from Apalachicola came in today. Several boats crossed starting yesterday at 2p. Some going to Clearwater marinas and some coming here to Turtle Cove Marina in Tarpon Springs.

On our starboard side is Journey with Melesia and Tom aboard. So good to see them again! I think they got the most sleep of any boats making this 20 + hour overnight crossing. Each slept a total of 8 hours! They did 4 hours on duty and 4 hours off! What a team... I doubt my Captain would trust me at the helm that long.....nor would I trust myself to that extended duty.

Journey is the boat that our oldest Looper, Hank, was on...... Melesia is Hank's daughter and she is really missing him. They took him back to Chattanooga before heading down to Mobile Bay. He was only suppose to cruise with them a short way but was loving the Loop trip so much and the people he met that he stayed with them for several months. I think we all fell in love with 90 year old Hank!

On the other side of us is where they put the good ship “Pazza Bella” with Veronica and Mike aboard. They didn't get much sleep last night but will probably tuck in early tonight.

Here you can see that we are separated from Pazza Bella by a pile up forward
and a fender aft.

Blue Moon is so wide, 16 ft, that she couldn't get into our dock but is up around the corner from us.

Meandering” is also a new arrival and parked on our dock.

We had to make a run to Walmart and when we got back about 5p to the marina “Sa Sea Sally” was docked and the Captain, Clay, and the First mate, Sally, were already in bed! So we will greet them tomorrow.....they were the ones that towed that disabled small boat for 3 hours into the harbor at Columbus, MS.

There are a few others that headed straight to Clearwater so we have yet to check in with them but with the good weather window we are sure they are safe in port tonight.

We have been enjoying days with our Grand Wonders here in Tarpon Springs. So fun to get the missed hugs of this journey... to feel their little arms around you is such a blessing......How rich we are to be able to view the world through their innocent eyes.
