Breakfast
was great aboard Miss gg sharing the Apple Bread our guests had
brought us. Then the Captain treated them to a short cruise on the
Tennessee River. We all got to see Chattanooga from the water.
Here
are our new crew members, Beth & Yvette.
As
you travel up river from our dock the first thing you see are three
bridges. The second one is the Pedestrian Bridge.
The
Delta Queen, a National Historic Landmark, being renovated.
This
is the back side (water view) of the Hunter Museum of Modern Art.
Up
close with the Pedestrian Bridge... I think there was more foot
traffic during the night than today!
Houses
along the River bank.
This
is the far end of the boat docks along the water front of downtown.
Very
near our dockage are the two Aquariums. The center one pictured here
houses the Fresh water fish and on the left is the Ocean Aquarium. Notice also the fountains on the far left. Above those are steps
into town with water flowing down them....depicting the Trail of Tears (removable of the Cherokee Indians from this area to Oklahoma.)
Boats also dock in front of the Aquarium.
Our sweet guests had to leave this afternoon.... we miss them already! Tomorrow the Captain and I are headed for the Smoky Mountains by
rental car to check on our cabin there...does anyone want to buy a
mountain cabin? We will continue the blog when we get back to the
water and depart down stream on Monday, October 14. Meet us
on the River next week!
