Cruising to Trenton

Alone on the bridge...hands on the wheel.... light chop on the water... a wonderful chill in the air....after 57 days I'm no longer a foreigner here.  I love moving through the gray-green water this morning.  Could this be what it is like to go to heaven... to wave good-bye to all your friends on shore?.... to cruise away?  Perhaps, on another day I will feel differently but today....... I am in love!

The sun came out and the sky held only a few fluffy clouds but prior to this a strange looking line of white was above the horizon and covered the top of the sky.  Those are not hills in a haze below the white clouds but blue sky.

Walter had been concerned about the height of a bridge not shown on the Canadian charts... should he put the mast down?  We made a sharp turn and then saw the HIGH bridge... no worries.   This was at “Telegraph Narrows” near the town of Deseronto between Mohawk Bay and Big Bay but somehow still in Quinte Bay? Yep.

Next we passsed Belleville Harbour

Norris-Whitney Bridge at Belleville

After we passed under this bridge my quiet reserved husband brought his Iphone to the bridge and plugged it into our bridge stereo and suddenly I was surrounded by some good old rock and roll and Beach music!  Maybe that “chill in the air” was too much for my Florida boy?  And I thought my day couldn't get any better! :-)

At 130p we cruised into Trenton Ontario with Kool and the Gang playing “Celebration” in the background.  Tonight we are docked at Fraser Park Marina.   A wonderful grocery store is only 2 blocks away.  Here is the lovely park behind our dock.

This is the bridge just outside our Marina which we will pass under when we leave here.

We may leave in the morning since we have already stocked the boat with supplies.  We have heard so much about the beautiful cottage country along this canal.  Can't wait!
