My
friend Mavis and I ran away to the beach today while the Captain
dealt with hooking up the new cable.....more on that later.
Yesterday
at least 10 inches of snow fell on our back deck of our house in New
Bern, NC. We found quite a contrast today in Vero Beach. The water
was beautiful.
We
enjoyed a long stroll on the boardwalk.
The
parking lot was full but the beach was really not crowded.
One
treasure hunter.
Lots
of sea gulls hoping for hand outs as they lined the rail.
Cable
repair: After attaching the new cable this morning the radar was still not sending data
to the chart plotter. We considered sending it to Kansas....yea, it
is a Garmin product like the radar. However, we have decided to
wait until we are home in New Bern IF nothing else goes wrong with
it...like the all important depth gage! And we do have a back up GPS
with a chart plotter. We will be in sight of land for the rest of the journey.
We
have some bad weather....okay, with so many in our family &
friends north of here under the ice these days I should not say
“bad”! So let's leave it with us picking a less rainy day to
cruise very soon.
GeorgeAnn, stay put until about May...this is crazy!!! We have missed 7 full days of school, and have had several delayed start days. Today is a three-hour delay. Absolutely bizarre! We miss you, and hope you are enjoying the sun and warmth.
