There
is a metal train bridge within sight of our marina. Several times
both day and night a train engine hits the trestle with a crash and
it sounds like the bridge is falling apart! None of this bothers us
at night in our cabin..... unless we are awake we really don't hear it. However, the Captain has heard it so often that he now believes he
knows which engineer is blowing the whistle as he runs his train over
the bridge!...apparently each has their own way of tooting!
YES!
We NEED to move on...but we are still awaiting repairs! The update: the Garmin chart plotter nearly got sent to the wrong marina
but has now been redirected to us here in Jacksonville, FL. We are
expecting it to arrive on Tuesday. There still is no word on the
motor repair for the windlass. Walter has rebuilt the control box
for it and carefully maneuvered his sore back into that hole up front
(anchor chain locker) to put it back in place.
The
Captain reads, I work crossword puzzles and walk about 6 miles a day. Here are a few wild flowers I found today along the road.
Hoping
for good news on the windlass motor tomorrow...it only had to be sent
to Lake Okeechobee area which is not far from here.
In
the meantime we have a little adventure here on the Ortega River...a
new Looper has come to our docks but we can't find them. We read on
the Looper's blog that they were here “behind a houseboat”. Lots
of huge house boats here on these 4 long piers. The hunt begins..............
