Houston, We Have Flush!!

Yes, our part came in and the Captain has installed the new vacuum pump for the guest head (toilet). And the most exciting thing is we are planning to depart Norfolk at 6a tomorrow morning!  We wanted to leave late this afternoon and anchor out about 2 hours up the waterway to get a head start on a long day but the wind was still 24 knots on the Chesapeake Bay.  It is suppose to be about half that tomorrow early dropping off later in the day.  We have to back the boat out in the morning so praying no wind when we first fire up the Cats (2 Caterpillar diesel engines).

I also got a package today, my Landing Loop. Sure could have used this gadget when I had to lasso a tall pile in Elizabeth City.  I got out on the dock this afternoon in front of God and everyone and practiced..... only because the Captain insisted!  The first few times I did it right but then my arm got tired and I kept missing the dock cleat.  Here is the inventor's  video: http://www.landingloop.com/presentation.htm

James Bond's enemy had his boat at our Marina today... MOONRAKER.
Moonraker is one of the smaller yachts here today

This morning a ship larger than 2 football fields came in going to the naval port across from us. It actually carried 3, THREE, navy ship INSIDE it!  We watched two small tugs maneuver it. Had to turn Ipad at an angle to get the whole ship into photo.

So happy to be back on the Waterway tomorrow!  Chesapeake here we come......
