Delightful Cruise to Charlevoix MI

We had a nice morning not leaving until just after 10 for Charlevoix.  Our view of this city marina as we departed.  We were right in front of the larger Hatteras on far right and that is Q's Cabin just in front of where we were docked.

In the harbor nearby it was so still.... not sure how that sail boat filled two sails?

Lake Michigan was “laying down”, behaving, also... so beautiful!

We later had a slight bit of wind … the Captain calls it “cat paws” on the water.

This is a popular place on the weekends especially... we were on a wait list for docking at the city marina.  But at noon when we were just about to Charlevoix they called and said we had a slip!

Here is the South Pier Lighthouse at Charlevoix.

We are entering the channel to Round Lake and waiting on the bridge to open on the half hour.  Q's Cabin was able to scoot under the 16 ft bridge.

Draw bridge opening.

This is the park at the marina.

The walkway along the marina wall to the bathroom/showers and office. The flowers in the baskets smelled so sweet.

We saw this pretty church yard as we walked to the grocery store just one block off the Marina/park grounds.  So good to be back in the USA...prices are so much better here than in Canada.

Walter had to spend the afternoon doing an awful job... replacing a vacuum pump in one of the heads (bathroom)! So now both heads have new pumps yet again.... one for the second time!!  So seems we will be returning a pump to our friends at West Marine!  And since the maid had the day off I spent the afternoon cooking up some ground beef, freezing it and preparing two pork chops for the wee crock pot tomorrow.  I think it is time to go walking & exploring in my new back yard. :-)

Some Loopers are wanting to stay here another day.  It is nice and we are also tempted but the water on Lake Michigan is suppose to be good for the next couple of days so we feel we need to take advantage of this and travel a long way tomorrow.
